  About Project

Our team's overarching goal was to position the South Dakota Farmers Union as an industry leader in the promotion of high-octane, low carbons fuels (specifically corn ethanol) as a solution to improving the Nation’s environment, economy and public health. Our strategy was multi-pronged and relied on:
• Acting swiftly and using national news stories to our advantage to connect our issue when it mattered most.
• Leveraging existing relationships to target high-profile leaders/influencers about the issue
• Placing a consistent cadence of earned media to elevate SDFU president, Doug Sombke, as a thought leader and establish SDFU as a trusted leader on the issue.

The combined pro-bono efforts of Manberg Strategies, Dakota AG Energy and the Clean Fuels Development Coalition on behalf of SDFU:
• Resulted in earned media coverage that reached close to 80M+ Americans and was equivalent to spending roughly $130,000 in advertising.
• Targeted high-profile leaders including Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, President Trump, South Dakota Governor Noem, EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler, EPA Advisory Committee Chairman, Tony Cox, Biden Presidential campaign staff and more.
